Portrait Commissions

Portrait commissions are developed in oil on canvas through direct consultation. Each work is based on the subject’s likeness and character, created through observation, reference material, and painterly interpretation.

Commissions may include individuals, couples, families, and the animals that are part of their lives. Whether depicting a single subject or a group, each painting is developed with attention to likeness, character, and composition.

Portrait Pricing

The pricing below is based on a single subject and serves as a general guide. Final pricing depends on the number of subjects, composition, background detail, and overall complexity.

 

Additional subjects, including family members and pets, are quoted individually based on the complexity of the composition.

Materials

Each portrait is painted using professional-grade oil paints on archival supports selected for their longevity and permanence. Every commission is created using materials intended to preserve the integrity of the artwork for generations.

Commission Process

A 50% deposit is required to begin the commission. The remaining balance is due upon completion and approval of the finished work.

Availability & Scheduling

Portrait commissions are accepted on a limited basis throughout the year. Each painting is scheduled individually to allow adequate time for planning, painting, drying, and final review.

Completion times vary depending on size, complexity, and current studio commitments. Clients are encouraged to inquire early, particularly for portraits intended as gifts or for special occasions.

A commission is considered reserved once the project details have been agreed upon and the required deposit has been received.
