During my senior year at Moore College of Art and Design, I set up on the corner of 21st and Arch Streets in Philadelphia. I didn't have a plein air easel at the time, so I sat on newspapers on the ground, leaned my canvas against the building wall, and started painting.
I had been out there for a while when I spotted a mother walking toward me, holding the hands of her twin daughters, both dressed in matching red coats. I was so excited, but I wasn't far enough along in the painting to include them. I kept working, hoping for another chance. Luckily, after several hours on that corner, they walked past me again. I quickly worked them into the painting, and I was thrilled.
Those two little girls in red coats became the heart of this piece. Available as a high-quality giclee print on paper in 11x14" ($85) and 16x20" ($125).
Each piece is hand-signed by the artist and shipped with care.
