This hand-painted oil study is based on Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres’ La Grande Odalisque, developed through close analysis of composition, anatomical structure, and Neoclassical painting technique.
The work examines Ingres’ distinctive approach to elongated form, controlled contour, and smooth tonal transitions, executed through traditional oil painting methods as a studio study of historical technique.
Rather than a reproduction, this piece functions as a technical interpretation of Ingres’ painterly language and structural design.
This work was created as a commissioned master study for a private collector in Tallahassee, Florida.
Medium: Oil on canvas
Category: Museum Study / Masterwork Interpretation
Status: One-of-a-kind hand-painted study
