This painting originated during a late-night studio session in Philadelphia while the artist was completing her senior year of college. Rather than ending the evening when the last train departed, the work continued through the night, allowing the painting to develop within the stillness and atmosphere of the city after dark.

The composition examines the interplay of urban light, architecture, and mood, focusing on the unique character of the city during its quietest hours.
