Salty Dog

While living on St. Simons Island, I knew this picturesque marina just had to be painted. I was inspired by the Salty Dog Sea Tow, accompanied by two shrimp boats, with the Sidney Lanier Bridge being built off in the distance. I love the spontaneity of painting en plein air and how it engages all of your senses — the salt air, the sounds of the water, the shifting coastal light.
