The Cloister, Sea Island

This is one of my favorite landscapes from my Saint Simons Island collection. Painted from the same beloved spot beneath the live oaks on the bank of the Blackbank River, I simply shifted my easel a little to the left to capture this view of the Cloister — a subtle change in perspective that revealed an entirely different scene. As always, the tide swept swiftly in and out while I worked, a constant and peaceful rhythm.
